Biography of Martha Patton

In addition to her independent practice, Martha is a career coach at the NYU Stern School of Business where she coaches alumni and working professional students including executive and part-time MBA students.

Her professional experience also includes four years as director of Career Counseling in the Office of Career Development at NYU Stern where she was responsible for all aspects of career counseling for the over 800 full-time MBA students.  As the director of a team of four counselors, she developed and delivered career management workshops, oversaw Stern’s successful mock interview process and provided individual career counseling.  During her tenure, she initiated the implementation of job search strategy groups and the office became known for delivering high-quality, creative and cutting edge career services that delivered results. 

Prior to her career counseling work, Martha was an associate director in the Executive MBA Program at NYU Stern.  In addition to admissions recruiting, she advised the executive MBA students, coaching them to improve teamwork and communication within their study groups. 

Martha earned an MBA from Columbia University in management and marketing.  A lifelong learner, she completed a two-year certificate program in Organizational Development and Consultation at the William Alanson White Institute and completed the certificate program in Executive and Organizational Coaching at New York University. 

In addition, she completed a Masters in Social Work at NYU to expand her clinical counseling skills and worked as a social worker at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York City.
